The mission of Communities In Schools is to champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life. Communities In Schools believes that every child deserves the five basics:

  • A one-to-one relationship with a caring adult
  • A safe place to learn and grow
  • A healthy start and a healthy lifestyle
  • A marketable skill to use upon of graduation
  • An opportunity to give back to the community

THE REWARDS
In the course of evaluating needs, organizing solutions and providing services, Communities In Schools rewards everyone involved ~ students, parents, school staff, contributors, associated organizations and communities alike. We all benefit with outcomes like these:

  • Over 90% of students improve unexcused absences to an acceptable leverl
  • Around 80% of behavioral referrals improve to two or fewer disciplinary referrals
  • Nearly 80% of academic referrals maintain a “C” or better in all core subjects
  • Around 98% of students in the program for at least 45 days are promoted to the next grade level
